January Snow!!

It has been snowing every day for two weeks!! Two weeks!! Sydney and I have been going sledding every day after school. Mom says our noses will freeze off. Last night I looked in the mirror and my nose didn’t look any different – just red from the cold.

Zachary and Dakota got snowboards for Christmas. They whizz down the hill past us. They make loops and curves but sleds mostly go straight. I told them they have to look out for us but they just laugh. I tried Dakota’s snowboard once and fell off. I’m not good at keeping my balance. I like sleds anyway. We have one big one that Sydney and I both can ride on!

LEAVES FOR THE LIBRARY!

Hi, it’s me, Abby!! Do you want to make some money for your library? All libraries need extra money to buy books, put on programs, and other important stuff like keeping the library warm on chilly winter days.

My friends and I got a great idea – we’re raking leaves to raise money for Evergreen Library! Sydney and I have already lined up 5 lawns to rake! Dakota and Zakary have one really big lawn. All four of us are going to help with the big yard this weekend. Evergreen has tons of leaves! I’ll bet you could raise some money for your library, too. Grab some rakes and have some fun!

Dakota, Sydney, Zackary, and I are helping Mrs. McKenzie plan another awesome Summer Reading Program!! Everyone gets to be a superhero!! We’re making masks, doing super cool science experiments, watching superhero movies, and reading super good books! Have you signed up for your library’s Summer Reading Program yet? I’ll bet there will be lots to do! What do you like best about spending your summer at your Library?

 Have you signed up for your library’s Summer Reading Program yet? Sydney, Dakota, Zachary and I are going to the Mad Scientist’s Workshop. It’s on Wednesday mornings in June and July! Mrs. Mackenzie is wearing a lab coat and making her hair all messy and spiky! I’ll bet she’ll put some glitter in her hair, too.

We’re going to do lots of neat science experiments like tornados in a bottle and Elephant Toothpaste! She’s making some kind of giant fountain out of a 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke. We’ll have to go outside to do that so we won’t make a mess in the library. I’ll bet you library is doing neat stuff, too. Please write and tell me about it! HOLIDAY SLEEPOVER!

The Haunted Sleepover     The Library Sleepover is next week!! Sydney and I got new Christmas pajamas to wear! Mrs. Mackenzie planned a scavenger hunt but she won’t tell us what the prize is. We’re going to have pizza and popcorn and a movie and lots and lots of cookies! Gram made 12 different kinds. Dakota and Zackary keep coming over to my house just to eat cookies. Gram put some in the freezer so there will be some left for Monday night. I am so excited! This is my favorite library program. Did you have a good winter break? Write and tell me about it.

Turkey trouble at the Library!!

Mrs. McKenzie lost her Thanksgiving Turkeys! She has three really big turkeys that go on the circulation desk each year. Dakota, Sydney, and I have looked everywhere for them. We just left the pumpkins and fall leaves up to decorate the library for now. Maybe we could make turkeys to surprise herAbby. Can anyone tell us how to do it?

PUPPETS, PUPPETS, PUPPETS!!!

Hi! It’s me, Abby!! Sydney, Dakota, Zachary, and I are all in the Library’s Puppet Workshop! Next week we have our performances on Tuesday and Wednesday night! All our friends and family are coming to see us. I am so excited! I am in two plays. I get to use a funny white goat marionette in the first play. It’s head bobs up and down and it has a beard! In the second play, I use a fat chicken puppet named Henrietta. I hope your library has puppets, too! They are so much fun!!!

Hi, I’m Abby Spencer! I love volunteering at Evergreen Library with my friends, Sydney, Dakota and Zachary. We help with programs, put away books, and cut out crafts for Story Time. Mrs. Mackenzie, the children’s librarian calls us Abby and the Book Bunch! There are six books about our adventures at the library.
